I made my own chat/messenger application, currently supports 1 on 1 conversations (working on a chat-room thing now).
Yes, I made this from scratch.
It's pretty useful at school since it can completely hide itself (not even a minimize button in the taskbar, it's just an invisible icon next to the clock; hidden! Very Happy

)

If you need help with how to use it, I've added a "What's this?" button so you can click the "what's this" button and then click on a button/box - it'll tell you what you need to know about the control you clicked on Very Happy

EDIT: CONVEYER NOW HAS AN UPDATE CHECKER FEATURE! YOU NO LONGER NEED TO KEEP CHECKING MY WEBSITE TO SEE IF IT'S UPDATED! JUST CLICK "CHECK FOR UPDATES" IN THE MENU! Very Happy

AND, for all of you overprotective people, here's a virus scan result (tested on 38 [THIRTY-EIGHT, MAN!] independent virus scanning engines) which proves it's clean (I'd never post a virus program anyways, that would be extremely dumb & mean of me.):

P.S. if you want to chat with someone, you will need to know their IP. That is why I would use it at school - when you click "about", it shows you your local IP... that's what you use at school.
At home, goto whatismyip.com and maybe it'll work.
(I haven't yet tested long-distance (different-network) chatting with my program yet, but i KNOW that it works on local (shcool, home, etc.))

A local IP means only people who are in your network can connect.
A long-distance (remote) IP is what other people living at other places can use. It's found at whatismyip.com

But i'm not sure yet that it'll work long-distance.

I just updated the conveyer zipfile, I added a readme. should clear up a few issues Very Happy

Well, of course nobody shows up. This isn't like AIM or something.
One guy has to listen, then the other guy connects. Once someone connects, it starts.
This is mainly 1 on 1 chatting; I'm working on a multi-user chat now...

I HAVE NOW TESTED LONG-DISTANCE CHATTING
AND IT WORKS!
I'm not sure yet if it'll let you host a chat behind a router, though...
(My friend doesn't have a router - he's directly connected to the internet. He hosted it and I connected. It worked.)
NEW FEATURES!
- Timestamping
- Allowing message sending by hitting Enter

Now download it, if you're NOT behind a router, it'll display your LONG DISTANCE IP! If you ARE behind a router, to get your long-distance IP go to whatismyip.com.
